Hey 👋,
I’m Olivier.
Since 2013 I’ve been writing about swimming, mental training, technique, and everything that makes this sport so rewarding (and at times… frustrating).
My writing has been featured on USA Swimming, STACK, Swimming World Magazine, SwimSwam, and of course, here on my website.
Along the way I’ve also written a pair of best-selling books for swimmers (YourSwimBook and Conquer the Pool) used by some of the top programs and swimmers in the water.
During that time, I’ve gotten countless emails from swimmers, coaches, and parents asking for advice.
Which is why this newsletter exists.
To help you make the most of your time in the water.
To simplify things so you can spend more time swimming well.
Emails have included:
- How Olympic Swimmers Set Goals (and how you can apply these principles to your own swimming)
- The Importance of Ankle Flexibility for Faster Kicking (and how it correlates to faster swimming, too)
- Why Swimmers Should Work on Core Strength (beyond washboard abs, a strong core helps you swim faster)
- The Importance of Enjoying the Process (the Big Goal is important, but without a healthy outlook on the process, doomed to fail)
- Stretches for More Undulation When Dolphin Kicking (cause everyone needs a good dolphin kick)
And much, much more.
Over a decade of writing about swimming, consulting with countless Olympians and clubs, and spending 30+ years training seriously (2x Olympic Trials qualifier, national age group record holder, certified noon-hour lap swimming champion), I’ve learned a ridiculous amount about what it takes to swim fast.
I also happen to love writing and sharing what I’ve learned, seeing others learn “what it takes” and come to enjoy the sport as much as I do.
About the newsletter:
- Goes out 5x per week, Monday to Friday at 6am PST
- Was, is, and always will be 100% free.
- Your email will never be shared or sold to anyone else.
- Unsubscribe anytime—and no hard feelings, we can still be friends.
Enter your email address in the handy little form below, and let’s go down the journey (or lane, in our case) of swimming better and faster.
See you in the water,
